Copyright registration: low-cost protection for visuals and packaging
Copyright arises automatically, but registration saves major evidentiary cost in enforcement.
Visual design, packaging, IP characters, and software enjoy copyright automatically upon creation. But in enforcement, proving you are the owner and created it first often becomes the hard part.
